Caring for your heart
Whether you discover Sierra Nevada’s cardiac care services through a routine diagnostic test or because you need emergency treatment in the 24-hour ER, you’ll find both our care and our technology to be first class. If it’s an emergency, our ER staff’s top priority is to get cardiac patients diagnosed and stabilized as quickly as possible. Although we have state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, patients who need surgery or advanced care can be transported to the nationally recognized Mercy Heart & Vascular Institute in Sacramento, our sister facility in the Catholic Healthcare West system.
Diagnosis
Non-invasive 3-D imagery is state-of-the-art technology and is available at here with Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital's 64-slice CT Scanner. Through an IV, contrast is injected into the patient so physicians can see clearly whether arterial blockages exist and assess buildups of plaque or calcium. Through its rapid images, the scanner produces a 3-D angiogram – all without catheterization – making the process safer, more comfortable and quicker for patients.
We also provide more traditional diagnostic testing (EKG, stress, nuclear medicine), all designed to help doctors diagnose cardiac conditions so effective treatment can be planned.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
Many people recover fully from a heart attack, bypass surgery or angioplasty, valve and stent procedures. To help, we offer the services of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center. For information, please call
