Caring for your heart

Knowledge is power. The American Heart Association estimates one in three people will suffer from cardiovascular disease in their lifetime. At Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital your comprehensive cardiac care starts with us. Our fully qualified staff of physicians, nurses and specialists offers you a complete spectrum of knowledge to care for your heart. Our excellence in cardiac care includes advanced digital imaging, non-invasive diagnostics, a complete rehabilitation center and Heart Smart classes as part of your recovery to wellness. Our hospital also has one of the few nationally accredited Echocardiogram Labs and is proudly affiliated with the Mercy Heart Institute in Sacramento. It’s our wide range of expertise and resources that offers you the best cardiac care services available in Nevada County.

Diagnosis

Non-invasive 3-D imagery is innovative technology and is available at here with Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital's 64-slice CT Scanner. Through an IV, contrast is injected into the patient so physicians can see clearly whether arterial blockages exist and assess buildups of plaque or calcium. Through its rapid images, the scanner produces a 3-D angiogram – all without catheterization – making the process safer, more comfortable and quicker for patients.

We also provide more traditional diagnostic testing (EKG, stress, nuclear medicine), all designed to help doctors diagnose cardiac conditions so effective treatment can be planned.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Knowledge is power

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program offers a comprehensive approach to help you achieve an active, healthy lifestyle and optimize your cardiac health. Whether you have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, or other cardiac interventional procedure, you can anticipate safely returning to your former activity level with the guidance of our Cardiac Rehab team.

We are pleased to announce that in September the Cardiac Rehab program received a three-year certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. This designation means our program is among the few that meets or exceeds national standards of care for Cardiac Rehab programs.
