What Is Hyperbaric Medicine Therapy…
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a simple, painless and non-invasive treatment which involves breathing in 100% pure oxygen under pressure greater than sea level. The oxygen is then carried to the parts of your body that needs healing - including chronic, infected or irradiated wounds. During the treatments, patients are monitored closely by our highly trained Certified Hyperbaric Technologists. The planned result with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is faster wound healing by stimulating circulation which promotes healing.
The primary functions of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy are:
- Increased level of oxygen in the bloodstream
- New vascular growth stimulation
- Increased oxygen concentration in infected tissues, including bone
- Improved effectiveness of certain antibiotics
We also offer the following comprehensive services in wound care treatment:
- Vascular Testing
- Surgical Intervention
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
- Antibiotic Therapy
- Wound Prevention Therapy
- Diabetes Education
- Protective Footwear Education
- Nutritional Services and Education
- Advance Technology/Skin Substitutes
Our goal at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is to help you treat your wound more quickly under the guidance of specialized care so you can get back to enjoying your life again.
