What about your medications?
Please check with your primary care doctor before stopping medications prior to a surgery if you have a heart condition.
If you take any of the following medications, we recommend stopping them before your surgery as noted:
- STOP 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO SURGERY: vitamins, diet pills, all herbal supplements
- STOP 1 WEEK PRIOR TO SURGERY: aspirin, Excedrin, all Ibuprofen products (including Motrin and Advil), all anti-inflammatory medications (including Celebrex and Naprosyn)
- STOP 5 DAYS PRIOR TO SURGERY: all blood thinning medications (including Coumadin, Plavix and Ticlid)
